Things are getting festive in the PEOPLE StyleWatch offices — we’re noticing a lot more sparkle, more glammed-up purchases and some fresh new scents. Below, see the lacy number one mom-to-be couldn’t resist, the royal-approved perfume a producer is obsessed with and the majorly marked-down pair of shiny pants loved by Lilliana Vazquez of one of our favorite blogs, Cheap Chicas.

Alissa Harris, Senior Photo Editor: I’m due in February, so definitely at the point where I can’t make my “pre-maternity clothes” work anymore. I was looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and found that most of the maternity dresses out there were way too cute for me (so to speak). There were lots of bows and pink — which has not ever been my style, and that certainly didn’t change just because I got pregnant!
This one at Motherhood Maternity caught my eye because it looks similar to one of the non-maternity dresses I own. I was also really surprised that it was Jessica Simpson, and a relative steal at $69. I got tons of compliments on it all night — everyone told me that it didn’t look like a typical maternity dress. I plan on wearing it again dressed down with boots.

Lilliana Vazquez, style expert and founder of CheapChicas.com: I recently bought a pair of J.Crew pants on sale (marked down to $100 — though you can get them online for $150!) that are versatile and can change your look from day to night. I recently wore these pants on the Today Show and Wendy Williams and received a ton of compliments.
I paired them with a pair of Asos pumps (which added a pop of color) and a cream sweater and accessorized with a necklace. These pants will add a touch of sparkle for the holidays — they are perfect for this time of year.”
In addition to her blog, Vazquez also just released her new book ‘The Cheap Chicas Guide to Style: Secrets to Shopping Cheap and Looking Chic.’
Whitney Little, Associate Producer: If you were to ask me which celebrity I most want to smell like (this is a totally normal question, right?), Duchess Catherine would be near the top of the list. Which is why I sprinted to Henri Bendel when the store launched the U.S.’s first Illuminum “fragrance lounge” (the brand is big in London). If you’re well-versed in all things Royal, you know Kate chose Illuminum’s White Gardenia Petals on the day she married Prince William — this stuff is the real deal.
After moseying around the fragrance lounge, which was way fancier than your typical perfume counter, I decided on a scent: Ginger Pear (the White Gardenia Petals was just a little too floral for my tastes, sorry Kate!). It’s a simple fragrance (they each focus on only eight key ingredients), and it smells clean without being overpowering — though a little goes a long way.
So now that I practically smell like a Royal, I just need to wait around for a prince to come my way. (Harry, call me!)
